How to Pronounce Cannes:
The “s” is silent, and so the city’s name should be pronounced as KAN. If you want to sound really posh, go for KAN-NUH like in this video here.
Where to Stay:
Drop the big bucks to stay as close to the action as possible. You don’t want to waste valuable time commuting back and forth between the Palais de Festivals and your Airbnb. Especially on days when you have to change attire for the fancy-schmancy evening screenings.
